Schwab Asset Management, part of the Charles Schwab group, has launched an actively managed exchange-traded fund focused on fixed income.
The entity – the Schwab Ultra-Short Income ETF – is listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Schwab expects to start trading on or about August 13.
The ETF has an expense ratio of 0.14 per cent. Designed to to serve as part of a diversified portfolio, it will provide access to the US dollar-denominated investment grade, short-term bond market.
“The Schwab Ultra-Short Income ETF is a notable addition to the Schwab family of ETFs as investors continue to seek out cost-effective, income-producing strategies to help diversify their portfolios,” David Lafferty, director, product strategy and development, Schwab Asset Management, said.
The ETF, which is Schwab Asset Management’s 10th bond fund ETF, aims at seeking current income consistent with capital preservation, while aintaining liquidity.
